The deadline for signing up for our Fall Season is closed.  Watch for details in Spring 2025.

 If you want to play bocce and don't have a team, you will be able to sign up for the Spring Season.   Watch for details in Spring 2025.

 The Fall season will begin on Sept 9th, 2024. We will play 7 weeks with playoffs the following week.

Games will be played at 6:00 pm and each game will last no longer than 35 minutes.

Teams will play 3 games, so we expect play to be concluded by 8:00 pm.

All League games are held on the 4 courts at the Forum during times reserved for

League play. The courts are numbered, and the schedule will assign each team to a

specific court.

Be aware though that rules will vary greatly on these videos, and League play will abide

by the rules provided on hbl55.com.

A captain is selected by each team. His or her responsibilities include:

•  Assigning who plays during each game; making substitutions as needed.
•  Understanding league rules and ensuring team members understand and adhere to league rules, such as how to properly throw the balls.
• Each captain will also sign the score sheet at end of game. 
•  Making sure all equipment is safely returned to storage shed.
•  Attend captain’s meetings and communicate relevant information shared there with team.
•  Identify a co-captain who can assume captain duties when captain is not

             available for league play

The League provides all equipment including bocce balls for League games. Only these

may be used for League play. The balls provided by the HOA are not League regulation

balls but may be used by any Heritage Placer Vineyards resident. Only registered

League players may use League balls and equipment for practice.

The League provides a document containing the rules governing League play. You can

The Spring League will have a Measuring and Timekeeping team.  . Only those charged with measuring can step onto the court during a game for balls that require measurement. All team members who are not playing must remain on the sidelines.

The team captains will discuss whether to play a game or reschedule due to inclement

weather. Please refer to League rules.

We suggest you dress appropriate for the weather and keep in mind that the oyster

shell and decomposed granite surface can be dusty. Only flat-soles shoes (tennis,

runners, etc.) are to be worn on the court.

We encourage team practice and will make available League bocce balls for it. At this

time, we do not have a reservation system in place to allow teams to reserve specific

times, but usually courts are available. If a team is waiting for an empty court to

practice, we ask the team on the court to limit their practice to an hour.

Absolutely. We encourage you giving your team a fun name.

Forming and maintaining the HPV Bocce League involves a number of startup and

ongoing expenses. To launch the League, we need to purchase multiple bocce ball sets, score keeping and measuring devices, and equipment for preparing the court surface before League games. We also plan eventually to have an online system for scheduling team play and recording game outcomes. All this must be paid for by the League. We are grateful that several community members have stepped up to donate funds to help get the League up and

running.

Addition of team members during the season is not allowed except if the team roster

drops below 6 players during the season. A team can then petition the league

organizing committee to add additional players.
